Coloring my World

I feel the yellow sun,

Warm embrace we are one.

The light of friendship on my skin

Glows from out to in.

Green is greed and envy,

I feel green enemies.

Green tricks the mind,

I feel green is blind.

Different hues of light

Bring surges to my soul.

Colors so bright,

Enveloping me whole.

Coloring my mind

Coloring my heart

Coloring in kind

Coloring all the parts.

Chilly clouds of blue,

Calming like the morning dew.

Droplets greeting the day,

Clear blue water take me away.

I feel red in my home,

I feel love in my bones.

In love hide bits of fury,

I feel the red become blurry.

Different hues of light

Bring surges to my soul.

Colors so bright,

Enveloping me whole.

Coloring my mind

Coloring my heart

Coloring in kind

Coloring all the parts.

These are the colors of my world

Good and bad, warm and cold.

Real ones know the hold,

Around and around I’m swirled.

Ethan's Epic Entries

My name is Ethan and I'm nonspeaking. Having apraxia means my body doesn't always look like everyone else's. It doesn't mean I am not in here. Hard times have led me to always lean into the small beauties of the universe, such as poetry and music. My idea to create this collection of poems doesn't come easily. Written literally letter by painstaking letter, every word carefully crafted with a complex process to breach the silence. Poetry rises to this same occasion, to breach the silence of the harshness of today's world. Love will conquer all things to save people from this reality. To anyone reading this, you are special and my heart loves you so much. These are my poems for you.
